How to reference a cell to a new sheet in Excel

Have you ever thought of displaying the content of a cell to another sheet? Changes made to the original will reflect in the sheet where it is referenced.

Below is a picture of a spreadsheet Sheet1 with "See me in Sheet2" in cell A1.

If you want to have this data in a different sheet in cell B2, use the formula :

 =Sheet1!A1

in B2 in Sheet2.

The exclamation mark is used to reference the contents of one sheet to another. Let's take a look.

Notice that the actual content in cell B2 is "=Sheet1!A1". But what is displayed is the content from cell A1 is Sheet1.
